Choice Music Prize shortlist announced

The Choise Music Prize shortlist was announced last night, during an agonizingly alphabetical show from Tom Dunne, which was all right for Adrian Crowley but not so great for Stanley Super 800 and Super Extra Bonus Party!
Here is the full list:
1. Adrian Crowley – Long Distance Swimmer
2. Cathy Davey – Tales of Silversleeve
3. Delorentos - In Love with Detail
4. Dry County – Unexpected Falls
5. The Flaws - Achieving Vagueness
6. David Geraghty – Kill Your Darlings
7. Kila - Gambler’s Ballet
8. Roísín Murphy – Overpowered
9. Stanley Super 800 - Louder and Clearer
10. Super Extra Bonus Party – Super Extra Bonus Party LP
Sinead Gleeson has a full list of the judges here. I’m also a bit bummed that Mumblin’ Deaf Ro didn’t make the list with The Herring & The Brine. But it’s a very strong list as it is.
The winner will be announced at Vicar Street on Wednesday 27th of February, with tickets costing a mere €27.00, which is rather good considering you’ll get to enjoy two live tracks from each of the nominees on the night.
Congratulations to everyone nominated, and best of luck to the judges who now have the difficult job of choosing the right album!
