Dry County – we salute you
Here are my three top choices for what to do on Saturday the 9th of February in Dublin. Where will you spend yours?
First up, there’s Dry County at POGO in Crawdaddy, with support from Neon Love DJs. That’s kicking off around 11pm, it’s a tenner in, and it will be a cracking night. I love Dry County, and they’re class live. Neon Love DJs will have you bopping like crazed electronic indie kids late into the night as well. Sound.
SugarLips – yum!
SugarLips (issue 2) is hitting The Boom Boom Room up near Parnell Square as well, with three very varied and very excellent acts. For €8, your ears can enjoy Hybrasil, Story of Hair and Sarsparilla from 8pm onwards. Sweet! (geddit? Sweet? Candy for your Ears? No?)
SEBP – their owl is mad.
If you’re not into pogo-ing or you have to avoid sugar due to a blogging diet, head over to Whelan’s where Super Extra Bonus Party are celebrating the launch of their Everything Flows EP, which features remixes from Cadence Weapon, Jape and NouveauNoise. It’s going to be bloody brilliant. Support comes from the aforementioned NouveauNoise, as well as Captain Moonlight who graced the indie hour last week. It’s a tenner in, and I can confirm that the newest line of SEBP t-shirts will be available (featuring the panda head this time) as well as the bright blue gorgeous vinyl Everything Flows EP.
It’s all good, so you may have to flip a coin to decide where to head to! Hope y’all enjoy yourselves anyway.
The mp3 of Thursday’s indie hour, when we were joined by the really lovely Cathy Davey will be up on the blog shortly…
