Lord Altmont at Biennale Art and Music Festival, Bari, Italy

On Thursday 24th July we were joined by Lord Altmont a.k.a. the vocal and percussive project of a group of songsters pioneered by aidan.

The Lord Altmont projects takes its influences from African, Celtic and Indian music, using several languages to portray the message of each song to the listener.  On the below mp3 you will find an interview with aidan, ben and anna who play as part of Lord Altmont.  They told us about the Biennale Music and Art Festival in Italy where they represented Ireland, as well as about the story behind Lord Altmont.  They also played a few live songs for us.

We started this show with Adebisi Shank’s Jump Cut from their EP of last year, we listened to Robotnik’s People Walk Away from his album Pleasant Square, and nialler9 recommended a track from Taken by Trees’ 2007 album Open Field.

We finished up the show with Margie from Heathers’ Here, Not There album.  Heathers’ joined us on the show the following week, the mp3 of which will be on this blog shortly…

I hope you enjoy the mp3 of the Lord Altmont interview below.
